Vintage 9ct Gold Extra Long Torpedo Drop Hook Earrings
This vintage pair of hook earrings are made from 9ct rose gold, however, at some point in their life they’ve been plated with yellow gold so they have a deep yellow colour (this is often found with vintage gold, due to fashions changing). They feature a puffy embossed torpedo drop which has the same embossed graduating design on the front and back. Being puffy, they’re quite lightweight so are comfortable to wear. These were made prior to the hallmarking act so they aren’t stamped, but they acid test as 9ct gold.
Together they weigh 2.9 grams. They measure 6.3cm long including the hooks.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. No dinks or damage. Just have the usual very light marks which you’d expect on a vintage item and if you look through a loupe you can see tiny patches on the raised areas where the yellow gold plating has rubbed, revealing the rose gold beneath; this is not noticable to the naked eye.
