Victorian Solid Silver Locket with ML / LM Monogram - Large and Heavy!
Here I have an antique silver locket, featuring a gothic monogram of the letters LM (ML) on the front. The letters are pierced from thick silver and have hand engraved detailing to emphasise the design. Inside, there’s the origin owner’s photo of a Victorian gent and this is held behind a little silver frame. The other side has lost it’s frame but if you cut a photo to the right size it should stay put. There’s a large bale at the top for hanging and as with many antique pieces, it’s not stamped but acid tests as silver throughout.
Measures 4.1cm wide. The main body of the locket is 5.1cm high. With the bale, the total length is 6.8cm. Weighs 38 grams.
Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it snaps shut. Just has the usual marks and tarnish to the silver which you'd expect on an antique item.
