This antique pendant features a glass reverse-painted ginger cat, wearing a little red collar with bell. The cat’s nicely painted, she almost looks like a little tiger with black stripes on her head and ear tips and a white chest! The backing appears to be mother of pearl and it’s all set within a rolled gold frame with an enclosed back.
Please note - the high dome of the glass makes it tricky to photograph so apologies for all the reflections!
Measures 2.3cm long including the bale, 1.6cm across the widest point and 0.8cm deep. Weighs 2.7 grams.
Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. The rolled gold on the frame is rubbed in a few places around the setting’s edge so the base metal below shows. It also has a small pressure dink to the back, though this is largely hidden by the surface decoration. The paint of the cat is very good with just a couple of tiny patches of loss where it has peeled inside, but these are only noticeable on close inspection. The surface of glass cabochon has no chips or damage but just the usual tiny scuffs here and there which you’d expect on an antique item.
