Antique 9ct Gold Fine Rope Twist Link Chain - 16.25" Long

£125.00
sold out

Here I have an antique 9ct gold rope link necklace. It fastens with a bolt ring clasp and is very faintly stamped “9ct” on the tiny ring connecting the clasp to the chain. This is a spot often used for the purity stamps on antique chains but it wasn’t an ideal site as they marks wear away with use and are quite hard to spot in the first place, so later chains tend to be stamped on the ring itself or a separately attached plaque nearby. Please note, that this has been acid tested to confirm that it is 9ct throughout. It came to me paired with an Edwardian pendant and I believe they are original to one other, thereby dating this to around 1900.

Measures 16.25” / 41cm long and the links are about 2mm wide. Weighs 2.8 grams.

Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. No damage and the spring of the clasp is good and strong. Just the usual light surface marks which you’d expect on an antique piece.
