Victorian Silver & Pavé Turquoise Locket-Backed Heart Pendant
This heart pendant is made from silver and it’s pavé set on the front with turquoise gemstones. The back has a removable locket panel, which is made from yellow metal (I don’t think it’s gold, but probably pinchbeck or similar). This panel is held in place by friction, but it’s a very tight fit so it’s not easy to get in and out. There are no silver marks but it tests as around 800 grade.
The main body of the heart is 1.7cm high and 1.6cm wide. Including the split ring at the top, the total drop length is 2.4cm. Weighs 2.6 grams.
Condition: Very good antique condition. No missing stones. The locket panel doesn’t sit completely flush with the back but I think this was intentional so you can get your fingernail under and prise it out when needed. Overall, the piece just has the usual light marks and wear which you’d expect on an antique item.
