Antique Victorian Gilt Metal Fancy Link Long Guard Chain - 47.5" / 121cm

£185.00
sold out

This amazing Victorian guard chain is made from gilt metal (pinchbeck or similar). It has a fancy link, comprising of double rope-twist infinity links connected to round rolo links, to form this wonderful thick chain with capped ends that join together via a copper hook clasp. At 47.5” or 121cm there are multiple ways to wear it - as a necklace, wrapped once twice or even three times (I’m 5’10” and fairly stocky but managed a triple wrap without feeling strangled!), or as a bracelet.

The chain measures 47.5” (121cm) long and 0.6cm wide across the front. It weighs 73 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition. No damage or kinks that I can spot. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish which you'd expect on an antique item.
